About Town of High River
High River is a town in southwestern Alberta, Canada with a population of 10,716. (2006). It is 37 kilometers (23mi) south of the city of Calgary, at the junction of Alberta Highways 2 and 23. Although reasonably distant from Calgary, the town is nonetheless considered to be part of the Calgary Region. The town offers many services to its constituents and prides itself on being a GREAT place to live.
Pains Caused by Old Site
- The site was built on dotnetnuke (DNN) and was hard to update and there was very little tech support available.
- The design was dated and navigation was cumbersome.
- The service and knowledge being provided by their web existing web company was lacking
Web Candy Provided Relief
- The new town of High River site was developed on a JOOMLA platform which was easy to use, and which is supported by Web Candy. Training and manuals were provided/
- A new site design with easily navigated drop downs was created.
- Consulting on web administration processes and ongoing JOOMLA support are being provided to the Town of High River.
End result
- The site is more user friendly.
- The Town of High River has all of the support needed to manage its new website
- The Town of High River is very happy with the product and the service provided.
